Be yourself, life is too short to be someone else

The Stem Cell Transplantation.

A bag of blood (containing the bone marrow cells) is infused into your body through the IV, and the whole process takes about half an hour, including rinsing.

It's everything around it that makes it so challenging. It's an average admission of 6 to 8 weeks, during which you are in isolation until 6 pm. On weekdays and weekends, you are allowed to go outside all day because it's not crowded inside the building. However, you have to wear a face mask when walking through the building from the 3rd floor to the outside, and once you're outside, you can take off the face mask.

But you should try to stay away from people as much as possible because you have no immune system, and catching someone else's cold can land you in the ICU. If I feel good enough, my mother and I plan to do a lot of cycling on the loan bikes from the Prinses Maxima Centrum. In the first few days, I felt great, so my mother and I cycled a total of 44 km.

Strict hygiene rules apply in the room. To stay somewhat active, we move the bed to the side during the day and place the table in the middle of the room. This is where you can eat, play games, etc. The Maximaal Bewegen team (Maximum Excercise Team) visits three times a week and provides tips for staying active. They provided me with a stationary bike in my room

And they also come with a VR headset, or other ideas to pass the time and stay active.
